Stillwater Restaurants
Stillwater has one of the strongest dining scenes of any small town in the metro. The downtown district concentrates restaurants, pubs, and specialty food shops along the river bluffs, creating a food destination that draws visitors from across the Twin Cities.
The Scene
From casual pubs to upscale river-view dining, Stillwater offers something for every occasion. The summer patio season is especially popular — eating on a bluff-top deck overlooking the St. Croix is one of the best dining experiences in the area.
New this year: E's Gourmet Sandwiches opened in May 2026 at 221 Myrtle St E in the former DJ's Clam Shack space, a counter-service shop from a young local chef doing fried chicken, Reubens, and smash burgers, open daily for lunch and dinner. It is the kind of genuinely local opening worth walking to when you are downtown (Pioneer Press).
